Levonza Jerome McCree

Obituary & Service

June 15, 1957 - May10, 2024

On June 15th 1957, Mr. Levonza Jerome McCree was born in Orlando, Florida to Christine and Tommie McCree. In his early years, Levonza Mccree grew up with his sisters and brothers. Levonza enjoyed playing with his siblings in the yard. His mother, Christine Mccree, had a lot for them to do at 4743 Goldsboro Ct; one thing she didn’t play about was her children hanging in the streets.

Around the age of 15, Levonza began his first job at Sambos Restaurant as a cook. Later in life, he began a career in the field of construction - building houses for about 40 years.

Levonza was educated in the OCPS system attending Eccleston Elementary, Carver Middle, and Jones High schools.

In the early 70s, he met Betty Sue Morris and the two became best friends. Their friendship grew to a point where he would make sure he walked her back and forth to school, knowing he had found his forever love and soul mate.

Levonza and Betty Sue were married at the age of 18, on Aug 15, 1975. Shortly after, the birth of their first child, Levonza Jerome Mccree, Jr., was born in 1976.  Two years later, their 2nd child Cowanda Nichole McCree, was born. Levonza was happily married, and overjoyed with being a husband and father.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was well respected and loved, not only from his family, but by his peers and community for his heart, his smile, and kind words. Levonza was willing to help anyone in need - most of all he loved his children whole heartily and was always having a word of encouragement for others. Not only was he a loving father to his own children, he also was a mentor and father figure to his siblings’ children and he helped guide them through their life’s journey.

Levonza dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and was a faithful giver of his tithes.

Levonza was an incredible father, “SUPER” Grandpa, beloved friend, and many people looked up to him. He gave others a path to stand on and a future to reach for….

On May 10, 2024, God called home His faithful and loving servant. God knew his loving heart was needed in Heaven, a resting place where we will all meet him again (in the morning)!
